Of Time

I wrote this piece for Skyline Bones after a year learning to play trombone and other brass instruments.

I composed the three movements playing with musical time, but also meditating on the different ways we experience time. The first movement is a race against the clock. The second movement is about savoring the moment because it’s limited, not just like the last day of vacation, but bringing that awareness to ordinary moments we may take for granted. The third movement is a dance-whatever-the-future-brings.
